or grease being in/on containers. Please rinse before you recycle. Sometimes people use recycling bins for
regular garbage. This garbage contaminates clean recyclables.

Calcasieu Parish has two Residential Solid Waste Convenience Centers at which residents can bring sorted recyclable items. This service is at no cost to Calcasieu Parish residents with a valid driver's licenses.

The city of Covington recycling is picked up on Thursdays. Recycle containers street side on Wednesdays will be picked up as garbage. All containers for garbage and recycling should be curbside by 5 a.m. Note: No glass or plastic bags in recycling.

FEET ON THE STREET: Cart Tagging and Education Campaign is a citywide initiative to improve the quality of recycling by providing personalized and real-time curbside recycling education and feedback. The campaign, funded in part by a grant from The Recycling Partnership, will remind residents what belongs in their single-stream recycling carts in order to save taxpayers money, reduce the number of new resources used in creating packaging products, and improve the health of the community.

The centers are open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Accepted materials are cardboard, newspaper, magazines, and other paper products, aluminum and metal cans, and most plastic products.
Both locations operate a buy-back center where individuals are paid for items they deliver. You can make money from items or choose to not get paid for recycling items but donate the money to any school in St. Landry Parish.

Thibodaux's recycling schedule is: all residents SOUTH of Bayou Lafourche (LA 1 side) recyclables will be collected on Tuesday; all residents NORTH of Bayou Lafourche (Hwy 308 side) recyclables will be collected on Wednesday.
