Mission

The Capital Regional Office oversees environmental programs in Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. James, Tangipahoa, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana parishes. Located in the heart of the Mississippi River industrial corridor, the office supports one of the most active manufacturing and petrochemical regions in the state.

Staff complete inspections and community response efforts for a wide range of industrial, commercial, and municipal facilities. The office plays a central role in monitoring operations along the river corridor, addressing citizen concerns, and ensuring facilities meet state and federal environmental standards. By working closely with local industry and communities, the Capital Regional Office helps protect air, water, and land resources throughout the region while supporting responsible activity.
