Mission
The Northwest Louisiana Regional Office serves Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, De Soto, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, and Webster parishes. From its base in the northwest corner of the state, the office provides essential support to communities and industries across the region. Staff at the Northwest Regional Office conduct inspections, monitor facility releases, and respond to citizen complaints to help protect local health and the environment. With a focus on service and reliability, the office ensures that air, water, and land resources are carefully managed for residents and businesses throughout Northwest Louisiana.Mathew Carlson
Regional ManagerCarlson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, with a concentration in Environmental Science, from Louisiana State University Shreveport. Matthew worked in the Northwest Regional Office (NWRO) of the LDEQ as an Environmental Scientist, Environmental Scientist Supervisor and Staff Scientist, prior to becoming the NWRO Environmental Scientist Manager.
