Mission

The Southeast Louisiana Regional Office serves Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles, St. Tammany, Terrebonne, and Washington parishes. This region is one of the most highly industrialized and diverse areas in Louisiana, home to major ports, petrochemical facilities, and vibrant communities along the Gulf Coast and Mississippi River corridor.

Staff in the Southeast Regional Office conduct facility inspections and respond to citizen complaints and industrial releases to safeguard public health and environmental quality. The office’s work reflects the complexity of the region, balancing oversight of heavy industry with protection of air, land and water resources along with residential areas.

To strengthen its reach, the Southeast Louisiana Regional Office also operates the Bayou Lafourche Office, a satellite office which provides additional support in Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes. Together, these offices ensure that environmental standards are upheld across one of Louisiana’s most dynamic and diverse regions.
