Recycling Tax Credit

Credit for New Recycling Manufacturing or Process Equipment

Louisiana businesses can apply for a tax credit on qualified new recycling manufacturing or equipment or qualified service contract. Businesses looking to qualify for this tax credit should review Revisied Statute 47:6005 and LAC 33:VII.Chapter 104.

To qualify, the equipment has to be new and used mainly for recycling, like machines that sort, shred, or clean materials so they can be reused.

Businesses can also get the credit if they sign service contracts that directly support recycling. The goal is to make recycling easier and cheaper so more companies will do it.

To get the tax credit, a business must show the state that the equipment or service really helps turn waste into useful products. The state reviews the request to make sure it benefits the environment and supports Louisiana’s recycling efforts.

In simple terms, this rule encourages companies to recycle by helping them save money when they invest in recycling technology.
