LDEQ advertised and hosted four listening sessions to study the establishment of a voluntary compliance audit program for industries regulated by our department.
The meetings took place at LDEQ headquarters, in the Pensacola Room of the conference center on August 7, 2019, August 21, 2019, September 4, 2019, and October 2, 2019. Meeting topics included presentations from LDEQ staff on federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; and representative components of voluntary audit programs/policies that may be found in one state or another’s voluntary audit program/policy (such as audit privilege, confidentiality, immunity, and EPA new owner policy).
Louisiana citizens, representatives of the legislature, regulated industry and their trade associations, environmental groups, and community leaders attended the listening sessions and delivered oral comments. Please visit the links below for the past meeting agendas and presentations.
LDEQ is accepting written comments regarding the establishment of a voluntary compliance audit program for industries regulated by the department. Comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday, Oct. 21, 2019.
