The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has establish a website to provide public access to information about the project to dispose of explosives at the Camp Minden site in Webster Parish.

Xplor Energy pleads guilty to felony Clean Water Act violation

U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite announced that XPLOR Energy SPV-1, Inc. ("XPLOR"), an Oklahoma corporation residing in Southlake, Texas, pled guilty today to a one-count bill of information which charged the company with knowingly violating the Clean Water Act, Title 33, United States Code, Section 1319(c)(2)(A).

Washington Parish School Board must institute asbestos handling training

U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite announced today that his office has agreed to defer prosecution on the bill of information it filed against the Washington Parish School Board ("school board") charging it with a felony violation of the Clean Air Act for failing to notify the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality of the 2011 demolition of the Old Pine High School which contained regulated asbestos containing material.

DEQ's Drinking Water Protection Program moves to St. Mary Parish

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality has selected St. Mary Parish as the next stop for its drinking water protection campaign, "Protect Drinking Water One Drop at a Time." The program's goal is to increase the public''s awareness and participation in protecting their area's drinking water.
