Dallas - Attention local citizens, industry representatives, environmental managers and non-profits: the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality are sponsoring a free informational webinar on Thursday, April 16, at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, April 21, at 2 p.m. CST.
EPA is taking steps to expand the environmental conversation and build partnerships between government, faith-based and neighborhood organizations to create cleaner communities, healthier families and a stronger America. This webinar, which is open to the public, will discuss plans to leverage sustainable practices from federal, state, local government and industry representatives to help minimize environmental impacts in the Alexandria and Pineville community.
EPA regularly works with communities to advance environmental justice, initiate sustainable practices for local industry and incorporate green infrastructure.
Sustainability is based on a simple principle: everything that we need for our survival and wellbeing depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations.
