Water Quality Integrated Report 305(b)/303(d)

The Integrated Report (IR) is the current form of biennial reporting on the status of Louisiana waters. The IR is made up of what was once called the 305(b) Water Quality Inventory Report and the 303(d) List of Impaired Waterbodies. One of the primary focuses of the IR is on the use of five categories and five subcategories to which waterbodies or waterbody/impairment combinations can be assigned. Categorization under IR guidance allows for a more focused approach to water quality management by clearly determining what actions are required to protect or improve individual waters of the state. IR categories are described in each of the Integrated Reports found below. More information on Louisiana's IR process can be obtained by e-mailing the Water Planning and Assessment Divsion or by phone at (225) 219-3189.

FINAL 2016 Louisiana Water Quality Inventory: Integrated Report (305(b)/303(d)) - On February 10, 2017, the 2016 Louisiana Water Quality Integrated Report was approved by EPA with one Integrated Report Category (IRC) revision to one subsegment. All other portions of the report have been fully approved by EPA. In addition to the changes made by EPA, IRCs for eight water body impairment combinations were changed from IRC 5 (TMDL required) to IRC 4a (TMDL completed). These can be identified by IRC 4a1 in the IR Category column. The TMDLs for these impairments were identified during EPA's review period in 2016. The assessments contained in the report are now considered final.

Appendix B: 2016 Category 1 Addendum: Appendix B contains water bodies and suspected causes of impairment that were formerly considered impaired in the 2014 Integrated Report. They are no longer considered impaired by Louisiana. More recent data or information was used to make this determination during the 2016 Integrated Report assessment process. Appendix B is used here as a tool to track changes to the Integrated Report over time.

Appendix F: Public Comments on the 2016 Integrated Report and LDEQ's Response to Comments: Appendix F is a compilation of all comments received regarding the 2016 Integrated Report, along with LDEQ's response to those comments.

Appendix G: Louisiana's 2016 Section 303(d) List: (Excel Spreadsheet) Appendix G represents a subset of Louisiana's 2016 Integrated Report (IR) and includes only those water body impairment combinations (WICs) reported as Categories 5, 5-Alt, and 5RC. As has been noted in the body of the IR text, WICs in Categories 5, 5-Alt, and 5RC of the IR assessments are the only WICs on Louisiana's 2016 303(d) List. This table was developed only as an aid to the public and does not constitute Louisiana's 303(d) List. Every effort was made to maintain consistency between Appendix A Categories 5, 5-Alt, and 5RC WICs and Appendix G. However, in order to ensure the accuracy of the overall Integrated Report, only those WICs in Appendix A, Categories 5, 5-Alt, and 5RC, constitute the official 2016 303(d) List (please see Appendix A for other WIC impairments).
