PUBLIC MEETING ON THE CORRECTIVE ACTION PROPOSAL

The public meeting for the proposed corrective action proposal for the former Dixie Metals Corporation Site, has been scheduled at the Heflin Civic Center, 116 North Main, Heflin, LA beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2005.  The facility is located on Highway 531 within the city limits, Heflin in Webster Parish.

In accordance with Louisiana Administrative Code (LAC)33:VI. Chapter 8, the public is hereby notified that LDEQ has selected a corrective action proposal for the former Dixie Metals Corporation site. The selected remedy is presented in a revised remedial action work plan dated April 14, 2005.  

A copy of the Revised Remedial Action Work Plan is available for review at the LDEQ, Public Records Center , Room 127, 602 North 5th Street , Baton Rouge , LA.   Viewing hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays).  Additional copies may be reviewed at the Webster Parish Public Library, Heflin Branch, 7041 Highway 531, Heflin, Louisiana 71039, Hours 2:00 p.m.– 5:00 p.m. Monday-Wednesday-Friday and the LDEQ Northwest Regional Office, 1525 Fairfield, Room 520, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101, Hours 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

A previous public notice has been published in the Minden Press Herald on May 16, 2005.
