Amanda Vincent

Dr. Amanda Vincent

Dr. Amanda Vincent was named  Assistant Secretary of the Office of Environmental Services at LDEQ in April 2024. 

Amanda has worked at LDEQ since 2007. She has held various leadership positions within the Offices of Environmental Compliance and Environmental Services. During the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and other oil spills, she served as the agency’s lead for the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) program. 

Her expertise lies within the field of water enabling her to work within the Water Permits Division and Water Planning and Assessment.  Since early 2024, Amanda has been employed as environmental scientist manager.

Amanda received a Bachelor and Master of Science in Biology from Southeastern Louisiana University, a Master of Business Administration in Project Management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Coastal Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Amanda serves as the President of the Association of Clean Water Administrators. Amanda is a native of Walker, Louisiana and currently resides in Central, Louisiana.

 

Mission

The mission of the environmental services program is to ensure that the citizens have a clean and healthy environment to live and work in for present and future generations. This will be accomplished by regulating pollution sources, providing permitting activities consistent with laws and regulations, providing interface between the department and businesses and customers, providing permit support services and improved public participation The permitting activity will provide single entry/contact point for permitting, including a multi-media team approach; improved permit tracking; and the ability to focus on applications with highest potential for environmental impact.
